Couple of years ago we weren’t comfortable with an adjustable rate mortgage, but it was the only way that we could purchase the home we desired. I had a mortgage from American Servicing Company and after 2-years it is now coming back to haunt me. Refinancing is not an option for us as the value of my home has gone down so I applied for loan modification with Prudent Law Group. Soon after I spoke to them I came to know that I can actually get a lower fixed rate without a refinance. We took their help for a loan modification with ASC and now our rate is 5.5% Fixed and our payments have reduced by $700 each month. It’s such a relief, I can now own my home and not just pay for it.
